Preconstruction & Estimating SupportPerform technical reviews of issued drawing packages, specifications, and owner standardsIdentify design gaps, ambiguities, conflicts, and code compliance concernsValidate raceway sizing, conductor counts, and fill assumptionsReview voltage drop impacts on feeder and branch circuitsAssist estimators with scope validation and risk identificationDevelop technical narratives, clarifications, and proposal assumptionsParticipate in constructability reviews to ensure systems are practical, code compliant, and aligned with field installation methodsSupport the development and evolution of internal preconstruction tools, systems, and processes2. Design Gap Resolution & Technical AnalysisRaceway fill calculationsVoltage drop calculationsEquipment sizing validationShort-circuit and coordination review support (as required)Arc flash study review supportTemporary power design including load and lighting calculationsAdditional responsibilities include:Reviewing vendor submittals for electrical scope gapsReviewing shop drawings and prefabrication detailsIdentifying design deficiencies early and assisting teams with RFIs and change documentationHelping prevent field rework and schedule impacts through early design validation3. Field & Execution Team SupportProvide technical support to project managers, superintendents, and field leadershipAssist with interpretation of drawings, specifications, and electrical code requirementsSupport resolution of unforeseen site conditions or design conflictsReview proposed field modifications for compliance and riskParticipate in project kickoff meetings, constructability reviews, and coordination meetingsContribute to post-project look-back meetings for continuous improvement4. Code Compliance & Risk MitigationNational Electrical Code (NEC) interpretation and applicationOwner standards and project-specific electrical criteriaApplicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirementsThis role ensures proposed solutions remain compliant while protecting the company from assuming unintended design liability.5. Collaboration & CommunicationEstimating and Preconstruction TeamsProject Management and Field SupervisionBIM / VDC TeamsPrefabrication and QA/QC TeamsCoordinate with external design professionals when necessary to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.6.
