If that resonates with you, you may be a great fit.The RoleGallant is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing Preconstruction Services team in Crystal Lake, IL. This role is critical to project success and client trust, working closely with Business Development, Operations, subcontractors, and clients.At Gallant, estimating is more than pricing "” it's about strategy, clarity, and helping clients make informed decisions.What You'll DoPrepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and GMPs across all design phasesLead estimating efforts for projects ranging from $1M-$10M+, including ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and site workDevelop a clear estimating strategy for each project, identifying scope, risks, assumptions, and opportunitiesSolicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor pricing and support buyoutClearly communicate costs and options to clients and internal teamsProvide thorough documentation and support a strong handoff to OperationsProactively identify challenges and help the team find a way forwardSupport and mentor team members as the Preconstruction group growsWhat We're Looking For5+ years of commercial construction estimating experiencePrior field experience strongly preferredExperience across multiple sectors, including retail, restaurant, financial, grocery, entertainment, and industrialStrong understanding of construction means and methodsProven subcontractor relationships and market knowledgeProficiency with estimating software and technology toolsStrong communication skills, high personal standards, and a collaborative mindsetLeadership mentality with a sense of ownership and accountabilityWhy GallantAt Gallant, we build trust "” with our clients and with each other.
