This role is ideal for a highly experienced roadway design professional who thrives in a hands"‘on technical leadership position, enjoys mentoring junior staff, and can independently deliver complex roadway projects from early design through final signed and sealed plans. The Senior Roadway Engineer will serve as a technical lead and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) subject matter expert, supporting active and upcoming transportation projects for NCDOT and local municipalities while collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE• Professional Engineer (PE) license (North Carolina preferred) • Extensive experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) in a SME or ORD Modeling experience • 10+ years of roadway design experience (7+ years considered for strong candidates) • Demonstrated experience delivering complex roadway projects with limited technical direction • Strong communication skills xijylhu and ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams Ability to design a project from 25% to final signed and sealed • Exposure to drainage, structures, or traffic control design • Prior experience supporting project management tasks or client relationships Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringBenefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
