Metric Geo is working with a well-established contractor in Denver, CO, to hire an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts across complex civil projects.This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio including highways, bridges, airfields, rail, and large-scale infrastructure projects, with strong involvement in both public and private sector work.Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.The RoleYou will play a key part in the bidding process, leading or supporting estimates across multiple heavy civil disciplines. This includes developing accurate cost models, managing subcontractor outreach, and working closely with operations teams to deliver competitive and strategic proposals.Key ResponsibilitiesReview drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope and identify risksPerform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractorsSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricingLead or support the development of multidisciplinary estimates across structures, grading, paving, and utilitiesPrepare RFIs and clarify scope with owners and stakeholdersIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategiesCollaborate with operations teams to align estimates with field execution plansSupport bid strategy, proposal development, and final submissionsParticipate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and internal estimate reviewsAssist with post-bid activities including buyouts and budget setupWhat We're Looking ForDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)5+ years of experience in estimating or project management within heavy civil constructionExperience across infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, grading, drainage, or concrete worksStrong xijylhu understanding of construction methods, costs, and sequencingProficiency in estimating tools (HCSS preferred), Bluebeam, and Microsoft OfficeExperience with AGTEK or scheduling software is a plusStrong communication, organization, and time management skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneouslyWhy Consider This OpportunityWork on complex, high-profile infrastructure projectsJoin a contractor with a strong reputation and steady pipelineCollaborative team environment with long-term career growthCompetitive compensation and benefits package
