Senior Superintendent - Multifamily ConstructionThe full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.Location: South San Francisco, CA Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite Project Type: Multifamily / Mixed-Use ResidentialPosition OverviewA leading general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent with multifamily construction experience to lead large-scale residential projects in South San Francisco and the Peninsula. This role is responsible for driving field execution on complex, fast-paced developments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.The ideal candidate has a strong background in ground-up multifamily construction, including podium, wrap, or mid-rise product types, and excels at managing multiple trades in a production-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & ExecutionOversee all onsite construction activities from sitework through final turnover.Lead Assistant Superintendents, field engineers, and subcontractors.Coordinate multiple trades to ensure efficient workflow and sequencing.Drive daily production and maintain accountability across the jobsite.Scheduling & Production ManagementDevelop and manage detailed master schedules and short-interval lookaheads.Monitor progress and proactively address delays or conflicts.Implement recovery plans to maintain project milestones.Quality Control & CloseoutEnsure all work meets plans, specifications, and company standards.Conduct inspections and manage punch list and closeout processes.Coordinate with QA/QC and project management teams.Safety LeadershipEnforce strict safety standards and lead jobsite safety initiatives.Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure OSHA compliance.Identify and mitigate jobsite risks proactively.Team & Stakeholder CoordinationCollaborate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and ownership teams.Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and daily field huddles.Mentor and develop junior field staff.Qualifications10+ years of construction experience with a focus on multifamily projects.Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Superintendent on ground-up multifamily developments.Strong knowledge of wood-frame, podium, wrap, or mid-rise construction.Ability to manage large crews and multiple trades simultaneously. xijylhu Strong leadership, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
