Senior Project Engineer

The Senior Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project documentation, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, assisting with scheduling and budgeting, and ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety standards. The Senior Project Engineer works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and project team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesProject CoordinationAssist the Project Manager in managing all phases of commercial construction projects.Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications for completeness and constructability.Track project progress and communicate updates to the project team.Manage and/or facilitate project permitting with municipalities and design/subcontractor teams.Document ControlManage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and shop drawings.Maintain accurate project documentation including meeting minutes, logs, and correspondence.Assist in managing change orders and maintaining project records.Scheduling & PlanningSupport development and maintenance of project schedules.Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to the project timeline.Assist in identifying potential schedule conflicts and propose solutions.Cost ControlAssist with project budgeting and cost tracking.Help track change orders and potential cost impacts.Quality AssuranceMonitor work to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.Coordinate inspections and testing requirements.Assist in resolving field issues. Leadership & MentorshipProvide guidance and mentorship to Project Engineers and project coordinators.Support training and development of junior team members.Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.ExperienceTypically, 3-5+ years of experience in commercial construction.Experience working for a general contractor on commercial projects (e.g., office, retail, healthcare, industrial, or mixed-use).SkillsStrong knowledge of construction processes and contract documents.Ability to read or decipher construction documents, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing and ElectricalExperience with project management software such as: Autodesk Construction CloudBluebeam RevuMicrosoft ProjectExcellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Physical RequirementsAbility to visit and walk active construction sites. xijylhu Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work in varying weather conditions.Salary Range: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 annually
