Its in-house team provides the expertise, resources, and direct engagement needed to support consistent execution and long-term performance across its portfolio.Department: Development Risk ManagementReports To: Director of Insurance CompliancePosition Overview:The Junior Risk Manager provides direct support to the Senior Risk Manager & Director across acquisition and asset management functions. This role assists with pre-closing insurance reviews, investor communications, and renewal coordination. The Junior Risk Manager is responsible for preparing analyses, organizing documentation, and ensuring accurate tracking of insurance requirements. The role is execution-focused and designed to support the Senior Risk Manager in evaluating risk exposures, managing investor requirements, and maintaining compliance across the portfolio. Key Responsibilities:Acquisition Support Prepare summaries of insurance programs and identify variances from investor requirements for Senior Risk Manager & Director review. Support the Senior Risk Manager in reviewing deal structures, participants, and risk profiles prior to closing. Coordinate the collection of insurance documentation from brokers and transaction parties. Track investor insurance requirements and assist in identifying areas that may require consents or waivers. Assist with tracking construction-period policies and renewal timelines. Asset Management (Post-Construction) Support Track and respond to investor requests for evidence of coverage, policy updates, and compliance documentation. Coordinate communication between asset management staff, third-party risk consultants, brokers, and the Senior Risk Manager. Monitor portfolio assets for changes in risk profile (e.g., catastrophe exposure updates, tenant use changes) and prepare summaries for review. Assist in reviewing renewal terms and identifying deviations from prior coverage structures. Support documentation and tracking of insurance claims and reported losses. Qualifications:Required 3+ years of insurance experience. Exposure to Construction or Commercial Real Estate insurance preferred. Basic understanding of property, general liability, builder's risk, and casualty coverage. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field. Core Competencies:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills. High attention to detail in reviewing policy documents and compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple transactions and renewal timelines simultaneously.
