Superintendent - Commercial ConstructionApply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.Position SummaryThe Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and schedule. This role leads field operations, coordinates subcontractors, and works closely with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Execution· Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion· Coordinate daily operations of subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel· Ensure work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards· Maintain a strong on-site presence and provide proactive problem-solvingSchedule Management· Develop, manage, and update short-term and long-term project schedules· Coordinate sequencing of trades to maintain project flow and avoid delays· Identify and address schedule risks and implement recovery plans as neededSafety Management· Enforce company and OSHA safety standards on the jobsite· Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections· Ensure all subcontractors adhere to safety requirements and protocols· Promote a culture of safety and accountability on-siteQuality Control· Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards· Conduct inspections and coordinate with third-party inspectors as required· Identify and resolve quality issues promptly to avoid reworkSubcontractor Coordination· Manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and site logistics· Conduct daily coordination meetings and communicate expectations clearly· Resolve conflicts and ensure alignment across all tradesCommunication & Reporting· Maintain daily logs, reports, and site documentation· Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding progress, issues, and needs· Participate in project meetings and provide field updatesSite Logistics & Planning· Oversee site layout, material deliveries, equipment usage, and storage· Ensure efficient use of space and resources on the jobsite· Coordinate inspections, testing, and closeout activitiesQualificationsEducation· High school diploma or equivalent required· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)Experience· 5-15+ years of experience in commercial construction, with significant field leadership experience· Proven track record of successfully managing commercial job sites· Experience with ground-up and/or major renovation xijylhu projectsSkills & Competencies· Strong leadership and field management skills· Deep knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices· Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules· Strong communication and problem-solving abilities· Proficiency with construction technology (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling tools)Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)· Schedule adherence and milestone achievement· Jobsite safety performance (incident rates, compliance)· Quality of work and rework rates· Subcontractor productivity and coordination effectiveness· Field communication and reporting accuracyWork Environment· Primarily based on active construction job sites· Exposure to outdoor conditions and physical construction environments· May require early hours, overtime, or weekend work depending on project need
