Vice President of Electrical Engineering DesignLocation: RemoteSalary: $225K to $250K (negotiable for exceptionally qualified candidates)Unlimited PTO/401K with a 4%match/Medical + DentalThe experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.Our client is a leader in data center development, construction, and operations, delivering mission-critical facilities that power the digital economy. As the Vice President of Electrical Engineering Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical infrastructure of the company's data center portfolio. This executive position is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for electrical engineering design, ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability, and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in mission-critical environments, a strong operational mindset, and a passion for leading high-performing teams. ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement electrical engineering design strategies that align with company's business objectives and construction operations.Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure electrical design standards support overall project delivery goals.Drive innovation in electrical systems design, focusing on energy efficiency, operational performance, and resilience.Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of electrical engineering design activities across all data center projects.Ensure electrical systems meet performance, reliability, scalability, and sustainability requirements for mission-critical facilities.Review and approve electrical design documents, specifications, and calculations.Partner with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to integrate electrical designs for long-term operational efficiency.Monitor design progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project schedules and budgets.Lead value engineering efforts to optimize costs while maintaining reliability and quality.Manage internal electrical engineering staff and external engineering partners, including recruitment, training, and development.Conduct performance reviews and establish KPIs to drive engineering excellence.Establish and enforce electrical design standards, quality protocols, and best practices.Ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Identify and manage electrical system risks, ensuring appropriate risk management measures are in place.Cultivate strong relationships with clients, engineering firms, equipment vendors, and subcontractors.Negotiate engineering scopes, contracts, and pricing to secure favorable terms.Represent electrical engineering interests in client meetings and project reviews.Stay current with emerging electrical technologies, cooling strategies, and data center design trends.Lead initiatives to streamline design processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).Professional Engineer (PE) License (required).10+ years of electrical design and engineering experience (required).Proven experience in data center environments (required).Demonstrated leadership in mission-critical projects (required).Strong operational background within the construction or engineering industry.Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills. xijylhu Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
