With a commitment to quality and precision, Metal Arts delivers dependable steel solutions for various industries.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in Wichita, KS for a Structural & Miscellaneous Steel Estimating Manager. The Estimating Manager will oversee the preparation of cost estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel projects, evaluate project specifications and drawings, and communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to formulate competitive and accurate bids. The role also involves managing and mentoring the estimating team, ensuring adherence to deadlines, maintaining detailed cost records, and exploring ways to improve estimation processes and cost-efficiency.Metal Arts' Vice President manages the estimating department and this role reports directly to the VP.Metal Arts utilizes Strumis software to create estimates, as well as Bluebeam as an auxiliary aid. Estimators work in-house and maintain schedules of approximately 45 hours weekly depending upon volume of estimates due that week.The Estimating Manager is expected to estimate projects approximately 36 hours a week. It is critical to our success that this team member is an efficient estimator that can maintain a high volume of estimates submitted to customers in addition to management responsibilities. This is not a management only position. No team member at Metal Arts is above any duties. We are a team, and we all help with whatever tasks may be needed.Required QualificationsExperience in broad areas of construction: Commercial, Civic, Private, IndustrialMinimum of 4 years Estimating in the Structural and Miscellaneous Steel industryMinimum 2 years of management experienceProficiency in construction estimations with a focus on Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Steel projects (e.g., handrails, stairs, platforms, guardrails)Ability to analyze project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to prepare accurate cost estimatesStrong communication and coordination skills to interact with clients, project managers, vendors, and internal teams effectivelyExperience in managing and mentoring teams, along with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneouslyProficiency with modern estimation software and understanding of industry-specific toolsStrong organizational and documentation skills to maintain accurate records of costs and bid dataKnowledge of relevant building codes and safety standardsKnowledge of AISC and AWS requirementsExceptional professionalism and positive attitude, always putting your team first!!!Preferred QualificationsExperience with Strumis Estimating6+ years in the Structural and Miscellaneous Steel industry3+ years of management experienceHistory of estimating small projects up to 1,000+ ton projectsEmployee BenefitsEmployees enjoy a benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO) and a Simple IRA plan with retirement matching.
