Lead Estimator

We are looking for a Lead Estimator to join our team in Irvine, California. This person will take ownership of the preconstruction process and play a key role in shaping project strategy, pricing, and overall pursuit success. You will work closely with leadership, operations, and clients to deliver accurate, competitive estimates across a range of commercial construction projects. This is a high impact role for someone who understands how to balance technical estimating with real world job execution.Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Key Responsibilities• Lead full cycle estimating efforts from conceptual through final pricing• Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid packages• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope and risks• Manage subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, and scope alignment• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure estimates align with field execution• Participate in client meetings and support business development efforts• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost saving strategies• Mentor and guide junior estimators as the team grows• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors in the Southern California marketQualifications• 10+ years of estimating experience within a General Contractor• Strong background in commercial construction, including ground up and industrial projects.• Proven ability to lead large and complex estimates independently• Deep understanding of local subcontractor xijylhu market in Orange County and surrounding areas• Experience with conceptual estimating and early stage budgeting• Proficiency in estimating software and takeoff tools• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with leadership teamsPreferred Experience• Experience working on industrial, tilt up, or large scale commercial projects• Previous experience in a senior or lead estimating role• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
