BRIEF DESCRIPTION:You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply.The Project Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting project teams across multipledepartments while gaining structured exposure to the full construction lifecycle. This 10-weekrotational internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in Field Operations, ProjectManagement, and Preconstruction, allowing interns to explore each discipline and select thepath that best fits their skills, interests, and career aspirations. Upon successful completion of this internship and/or graduation from your respectiveaccredited program a qualified employee may be considered for a full-time entry-levelposition.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:The position of Project Engineer Intern includes but is not limited to the following tasks:1. Field Operations Rotation:• Assist Superintendents and field staff with daily coordination activities• Observe and support jobsite safety practices and quality control procedures• Assist with field documentation, daily logs, and progress tracking• Gain understanding of sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination• Participate in jobsite meetings as appropriate2. Project Management Rotation:• Assist Project Managers with submittals, RFIs, and document control• Support project scheduling and cost tracking efforts• Review construction drawings and specifications• Attend internal coordination meetings• Assist in maintaining organized project documentation3. Preconstruction Rotation:• Assist with quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications• Support development of preliminary budgets and cost breakdowns• Review drawings and technical specifications for scope understanding• Assist with vendor and subcontractor outreach for pricing• Gain exposure to bid preparation and proposal assembly4. Professional Development & Mentorship:• Participate in weekly check-ins with assigned mentor• Complete assigned learning objectives and rotation evaluations• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and willingness to learnCOMPETENCIES (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):• Understanding of construction documents - ability to read blueprints, specifications, andproject documentation• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative• Attention to Detail "” Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completingwork tasks• Ability to work in both field and office environments• Strong communication and organizational xijylhu skills• Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials• Dependability "” position requires being reliable, responsible, and fulfilling obligations toassigned mentor and project teams• Cooperation "” position requires collaboration with others in the office and field with aprofessional, team-oriented attitude• Good knowledge and understanding of computers and technology• Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteTARGET CANDIDATES:• College seniors pursuing Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related programs• Second-year community college students in construction-related programsLINES OF COMMUNICATION• This position reports directly to the department leader or assigned supervisor within eachrotation and collaborates with project teams accordingly.
