This role focuses on day-to-day database operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting, while contributing to ongoing improvements in system stability and efficiency.This position will help establish consistency and continuity in database support and serve as a key contributor to maintaining reliable system performance.*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Support the administration, configuration, and maintenance of company databases* Monitor database performance and assist in optimization efforts (query tuning, indexing, and basic capacity planning)* Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to maintain system availability and reliability* Assist in developing and maintaining backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes* Support database security, access controls, and data integrity standards* Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to support application performance* Assist in implementing improvements to database operations and system efficiency* Support cloud-based database environments (AWS preferred)* Maintain documentation, procedures, and system standards* Stay current with database technologies and best practices*EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred* 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration* Experience with PostgreSQL (required)* Experience with one or more: MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar database technologies* Familiarity with AWS or cloud-based environments* Working knowledge of Linux operating systems* Basic experience with database performance tuning (query optimization, indexing)* Understanding of backup and recovery processes*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** Experience supporting high-availability or production environments* Exposure to automation or scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)* Familiarity with data platforms such as Redshift or Hadoop* Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-system environment*WORK ENVIRONMENT: *This position operates in a professional office or hybrid environment with regular collaboration across technical and cross-functional teams. xijylhu The role requires extended periods of computer use and may require flexibility to support critical systems when needed.*PAY: *$85k - $110k _depending on experience_*BENEFITS:*JCI US offers employees and their families a comprehensive benefits package to ensure their individual and family's overall wellness needs are met.
