We are growing, and we need your help.SUMMARY:Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare labor, equipment, and materials/subcontractor estimates for bid projects applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes. Expected Outcomes include, but are not limited to:• Estimates are expected to be completed ethically, timely, competitively, and accurately.• Plans, specifications, and addenda are thoroughly reviewed to ensure that the estimate meets engineered/design requirements. • Estimates for self-performed work accurately depict production units, crew sizes, heavy equipment and tool usage, and additional requirements set forth in the general and supplemental conditions.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents for the estimateUnderstands and interprets project plans and specificationsPrepare estimates using estimating systems software in addition to manual unit estimatingReview data to determine and calculate a complete takeoff of scope of workMaintains files (electronic data) of working documents as back-up for estimate and figures, including current (accurate) information of supplier pricingOrganize take-off so as to communicate the project requirements clearly and in a meaningful format so that others can understand itRequest quotations from suppliers and subcontractorsAbility to compare and understand quotes from suppliers and subcontractors so as to establish the most competitive estimate, while making sure all items required are includedUtilize the Purchasing Manager and procedures to ensure prequalification of subcontractors is in placeConsider and analyze risk factorsConduct on site visits and analysis to identify pre-existing and site conditionsParticipate in project turn-over to operations upon awardHave the ability to work on multiple projects and help as needed with other estimating responsibilitiesParticipate in on-going estimating trainingESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:3-5 years construction xijylhu field experience in water/wastewater, industrial and/or power constructionUndergraduate degree or equivalent technical training and/or experienceConstruction contract management, schedule management, and estimating is highly preferredProficient in Microsoft ExcelUnderstanding of other disciplines of water/wastewater, industrial and power construction and processesAbility to work independently on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to conceptualize the project schedule from project start through completion, including sequencing/phasing of workStrong interpersonal skillsBOWEN BENEFITS:Competitive Base SalaryMedical, dental and vision InsurancePTO on Day 1Annual Discretionary BonusesEmployer paid and supplemental life insurance401k with company matchHSA and FSA optionsEmployee Referral ProgramWellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Short and Long-Term DisabilityFamily Planning and Adoption AssistanceEducation Reimbursement
