This role focuses on owning and optimizing enterprise Windows and Linux infrastructure across multiple datacenters, partnering with cybersecurity and engineering teams, and providing Tier III support for systems that cannot fail.THIS POSITION INCLUDES A $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS!Responsibilities:As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will:Support on-premises Windows (40%) and Linux (60%) infrastructure and applications.Support on-premises vSphere infrastructure across multiple datacenters.Provide Tier III support for production and development environments, managing ticket submission and tracking.Monitor resource availability to meet customer requirements, ensuring sufficient hardware, software, and throughput.Review and optimize system performance to ensure peak efficiency and reliability for mission-critical applicationsAnalyze system resource usage and apply corrective actions when necessaryReview system and application logs, ensuring completion of scheduled tasks and backupsCreate and manage user accounts, groups, and permissions; maintain local repositories in a Linux-based environmentSupport on-prem and remote Linux-based Oracle database appliancesDevelop and maintain administrative bash scripts for system maintenance and automationProficient in DNS administrationDocument and implement system administration solutions to meet business requirementsProvide project status updates, problem resolution, and system administration reports to managementCoordinate problem resolution with customers, team members, and vendors as neededAssess and recommend improvements for system software and hardware to enhance efficiency and functionalityCollaborate with the Cybersecurity team to implement, monitor, and maintain cybersecurity compliance and vulnerability mitigationsQualifications:Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility required; Program Access Request (PAR) submission required after hireBachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (additional years of relevant experience considered in lieu of degree)8-10 years of IT Systems Administration that includes 3-5 years of Linux administrationDoD 8140 IAT Level II cert (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent)Experience designing and maintaining secure, scalable cloud/on-prem platforms (IL5-IL6+)Knowledge of STIGs, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity standardsKnowledge of containerization (Docker/Podman), Ansible for automation, and OpenLDAPExperience with virtualization (VMware)Familiar with CLI and Bash scriptingNOTE: U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearanceAMS1Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. xijylhu The salary range for this position is USD $108,100.00/Yr. - USD $180,600.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
