L3Harris is currently seeking a lead power supply design engineer who will join the design team to contribute to the growing power conversion circuit card design needs.Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview Read the complete job description below.The designer will apply their knowledge designing low and high voltage, high frequency switch mode power supplies in collaboration with fellow senior power supply engineers.The individual must work with other engineering disciplines to assure power supply designs meet the power, thermal, emissions and safety requirements of the system requirements.Design AC/DC power converters Design DC/DC power converters Design power distribution architectures Design and analyze EMI filters Analyze analog/power circuits for stability, efficiency, power draw, in-rush, etc.Write specifications and test approaches for power supply circuit designs Select components for discrete power converter designs, or modules for systems Create schematics for analog/power circuits, support printed circuit card design Conduct and participate in internal peer design reviews, design verification testing of engineering units and oversight of design into production Perform analog and power testing in a laboratory setting for development components and circuit cards Work in conjunction with multi-disciplinary engineering teams for digital, RF, mechanical and systems engineers on the overall program/project performance Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant (Power Supply, Electrical Engineering) experience.Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.Experience with power conversion design, power analysis, analog circuit simulation, control loops and stabilization.Knowledge of high frequency magnetics design, development, and manufacturing.Understanding of power analysis with MathCad, Excel or similar tools.Experience with electrical simulations using SIMPLIS and SPICE modeling tools.Experience with CAD tools (preferably Mentor Graphics) for schematic entry and layout.Great communications skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the engineering and manufacturing process while contributing to a high-performance team environment to meet customer needs.Willing to work overtime and weekends when required.Experience with common lab equipment Preferably able to obtain a US DoD security clearance Familiarity with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-1399, and MIL-STD-461 is a plus.Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio software.L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or other related medical conditions), gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, disability, genetic information, citizenship status, characteristic or membership in any other group protected by federal, state or local laws.Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.Security clearances may only be granted to U.S.citizens. xijylhu By submitting your resume for this position, you understand and agree that L3Harris Technologies may share your resume, as well as any other related personal information or documentation you provide, with its subsidiaries and affiliated companies for the purpose of considering you for other available positions.Please click here for the E-Verify Poster in English or Spanish .For information regarding your Right To Work, please click here for English or Spanish .
