Build Your Career with Ashley FurnitureAll the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading quality assurance operations within the Retail Distribution Center (RDC), ensuring product quality standards are maintained from receiving through delivery. This role involves supervising quality auditors, conducting root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with warehouse, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and optimize processes. The Quality Supervisor plays a critical role in protecting brand reputation, reducing product damage, and enhancing customer satisfaction through proactive quality management and team development.Schedule: Hours vary weekly. Will be required to work two Saturdays per month. Monday-Friday hours will vary from a start time of 5am, 8am, 9am, or 11am, and will work 8 hour shifts. Pay: $25-$27/hr Key Responsibilities:Quality Assurance & Issue ResolutionConduct or assist direct reports with troubleshooting, investigating, and auditing product and material quality issuesCommunicate quality issues to appropriate production, warehouse, and engineering management teamsConduct analysis and make recommendations to resolve quality problemsMake data-driven decisions to optimize quality outcomes and production efficiencyPerform root cause analysis on repetitive damage issues found in prep lanes and throughout the facilityAssist and suggest corrective action measures to management based on investigation findingsQuality Monitoring & ReportingAudit, monitor, maintain, and present daily/weekly quality reports on process variation and product opportunitiesCollect furniture repair data in shop and prep lanes; enter data into appropriate databasesAnalyze data for recurring furniture defect issues and communicate findings to quality, warehouse, and manufacturing management using Continuous Improvement communication toolsRecord all product return information and analyze for repetitive issuesCommunicate quality trends and recommend improvements to warehouse, manufacturing, and quality leadershipCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with manufacturing and Retail Warehouse management to resolve quality and process opportunitiesBuild and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with RDC management teamsWork directly with warehouse team and manager to develop, test, and implement overall quality initiativesCoordinate reviews of all new floor introductions with appropriate teams to identify assembly, handling/storage, repair material, delivery, and product opportunitiesReport opportunities found to appropriate management and design/facilitate training when necessaryAudit Management & TrainingTrain, direct, and monitor quality auditors on projects and daily responsibilitiesDevelop and manage audit protocols and communication activitiesAudit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered toInvestigate product returns to determine root cause of damagesTrain and mentor warehouse employees on the product return investigation processContinuous Improvement & Process OptimizationIdentify process improvement projects and opportunitiesLead process improvement teams as neededAnalyze product service claims for repetitive service reasons; communicate findings and make recommendations to manufacturing and quality managementAnalyze replacement part requests for patterns and determine root causeIdentify products with repetitive delivery failures and make recommendations for product removal from sales floor to appropriate managementCompliance & SafetyMaintain responsibility for compliance to established processes through collaboration with RDC management teamEscalate non-compliance issues when appropriateMaintain departmental equipment to ensure proper and safe operationsMaintain a safe work environment by ensuring employees wear PPE (personal protective equipment) and follow safety compliance standardsAssist functional area Superintendent or Manager to improve systems of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and performance managementTeam Leadership & Employee DevelopmentMake employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.Coordinate and manage the work of quality auditors by directing team members to meet department goalsManage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviewsRecommend, plan, and/or implement employee training and skill development activitiesAudit, maintain, and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurateCommunicate company and departmental issues and goals through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunitiesFacilitate employee growth and developmentResource ManagementManage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materialsEnsure availability of tools, equipment, and materials needed for quality operationsQualifications:EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferredExperienceMinimum 3-5 years in quality assurance, quality control, or related field in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environmentMinimum 2 years supervisory or leadership experienceExperience with furniture, retail distribution, or warehouse operations preferredRoot cause analysis and problem-solving experience requiredSkills & Competencies:Technical SkillsProficiency with quality management systems and databasesData analysis and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools)Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection processesAbility to read and interpret product specifications and quality standardsLeadership & Communication:Strong coaching and mentoring abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to present findings and recommendations to managementCross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skillsConflict resolution and problem-solving capabilitiesAnalytical & Problem-Solving:Root cause analysis expertiseCritical thinking and data-driven decision makingProcess improvement and optimization mindsetAttention to detail and accuracySafety & Compliance:Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and PPE requirementsUnderstanding of warehouse safety protocolsCommitment to maintaining safe work environmentWho We AreAt Ashley, we're more than a business...we're family.
