Emergency & Critical Care Supervisor - Day Shift Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is seeking a Daytime Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) Supervisor to support the clinical and administrative operations of our ECC department. This role partners closely with the Hospital Service Manager to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and a positive experience for both clients and team members.As an ECC Supervisor, you will serve as a key clinical resource and operational support for the daytime team"”helping coordinate staffing, support team development, and maintain strong communication across departments while ensuring safe, compassionate, and timely patient care.Salary 70,000 - 79,000/AnnuallyKey ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational SupportSupport daily operations of the Emergency and Critical Care department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient careEnsure appropriate staffing levels of support staff to meet patient care and workflow demandsMaintain awareness of department workflow and patient volume to proactively address operational needsAssist with coordinating patient flow and interdepartmental communication to support timely care deliveryServe as a clinical and operational resource for staff during assigned shiftsMonitor patient care and client service standards to ensure a consistent, positive experienceIdentify operational challenges and collaborate on practical solutions to improve efficiency and team performanceTeam Leadership & Staff SupportProvide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to ECC team membersFoster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and mutual respectAssist with onboarding, training, and skill development for new and existing staffPromote open communication and support a positive, collaborative work environmentRecognize team achievements and support performance feedback and development conversationsParticipate in hiring, performance management, and employee engagement initiativesCommunication & CollaborationPartner with the Hospital Service Manager and leadership team to support departmental goals and operational prioritiesCommunicate effectively with clinical teams, client care teams, and hospital leadership to ensure alignment and continuity of careFacilitate communication across departments to support coordinated patient care and efficient hospital operationsEscalate operational or patient care concerns appropriately and in a timely mannerResource & Equipment SupportMonitor equipment functionality and communicate service or maintenance needsSupport safe handling and appropriate use of medical equipment and suppliesAssist in maintaining readiness of the department to meet patient care demandsAbout YouRVT or VTS preferred, but not requiredPrevious experience in Emergency and Critical Care strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to support and guide team members in a fast-paced clinical environmentStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and remain calm under pressureComfortable working collaboratively across departmentsBasic mathematical and analytical skills to support staffing, workflow, and operational decision-makingEthos Veterinary Health is at the forefront of innovation and world-class medicine.
