This role combines hands on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to support safe, coordinated, and high quality outcomes outside the hospital.Core ResponsibilitiesMaintain and apply advanced knowledge of respiratory equipment, ventilators, HME products, and related payer and regulatory guidelinesPerform clinical assessments and reassessments, including review of ventilator patient records, compliance data, and care plans; communicate findings and recommendations to physicians and referral sourcesParticipate in discharge planning and execution for highly technical and ventilator dependent patients, ensuring smooth transitions to the home settingDemonstrate and instruct patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on ventilator units, supplies, and proper equipment useProvide clinical follow up with physicians and referral sources regarding patient status and tolerance of therapyConduct clinical in services for hospital staff, referral sources, and other professionals on equipment and clinically related topicsAdhere to all patient confidentiality, HIPAA, PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling requirementsAccurately and timely document all patient care activities, assessments, procedures, communications, and outcomes in accordance with company standardsMaintain complete and up to date patient records, including prescriptions, plans of care, treatment plans, delivery tickets, and required checklistsEnsure documentation supports quality tracking, data trending, reimbursement, authorizations (including ventilator referrals), and regulatory complianceUtilize continuing education, in services, and professional inquiry to maintain and expand role related competenciesPromote AdaptHealth through program development, operational support, educational coordination, and engagement with referral sourcesAct as a clinical resource, collaborating proactively with peers and interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and optimize patient outcomesEnsure accurate, clear, and timely verbal and written communication related to patient care and operational needsParticipate in on call rotation during non business hours in accordance with company policyComplete all required compliance training and adhere to AdaptHealth's Compliance ProgramPerform other related duties as assignedWhy You're the Best FitDemonstrated experience providing respiratory care to ventilator patients, including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapyStrong clinical assessment, decision making, and problem solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and adapt care as neededExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teamsAbility to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain flexible in a fast paced, changing healthcare environmentTechnical aptitude with Microsoft Office and clinical systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels Role RequirementsAssociates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory programOne (1) year of clinical experience as a Nurse with ventilator exposure, Healthcare Respiratory Therapist or HME Respiratory Therapist Valid and unrestricted Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branchCPR certificationValid and unrestricted driver's license Work EnvironmentThis is a field and in-office role that involves travelType: Full-time Schedule: FT, M-F 8:30am-5pm including on-call as neededWork Location/Address: 1404 Harrison Ave NW, Olympia WA 98502Physical Requirements: Each role has a unique set of physical demands and work environment(s) that an employee will encounter while performing the essential function of the job.
