Candidates must be self-motivated, have the desire to learn, and work well with others. The Shipping and Receiving Technician role is a foot in the door for you to grow into an opportunity that suites your different strengths. You must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule of 14 days/nights per month, which includes weekends and holidays. This is an entry level position with advancement opportunities in other areas including production, maintenance, and management.ResponsibilitiesUnder general direction from the Warehouse Operations Manager, perform all job functions within the facility including shipping soybean meal via rail car and truck, receiving & grading soybeans.Maintain a safe and clean work environment by completing daily & weekly housekeeping accountability logs including using compressed air to remove dust from surfaces, sweeping floors, shoveling/removing piles of debris and any other cleaning responsibilities assigned by supervisor.Complete shipping, receiving and inspection documents neatly and accurately.Operate equipment for loading and unloading. This includes operating locomotives both manually from the engine cab and via remote control from the ground.Conduct truck and railcar inspections prior to loading with product.Perform basic preventative maintenance and assist maintenance techs as needed.Follow all plant and food safety rules and procedures.Assist in training new employees.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (required)1+ years of experience in Grain Handling environment and/or Warehouse OperationsMust meet minimum age requirementAdditional QualificationsForklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certificationAbility to perform math related to order counts and inventory managementAbility to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demandsHigh School diploma or GED preferredPrior warehouse experience preferredPre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position.
