Qualifying Skills• 1. Verifies dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic measurement tools and, relative to these inspection duties, initiate and document corrective action for programming issues and other problems.• 2. Employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform in all of the general functions of the Assembly Technician listed below:• Drill• Seal• Insert fasteners• Varnish• Paint• Counter sink• Sealer• Assembler• Sub Assembly• Assembler/Installer StructuresPerforming complex machine tool assemblySwitch between assembly and repairFabricate and improve assembly fixturingOperate automatic and semiautomatic assembly equipmentRead, understand and follow assembly instructionsPrepare proper assembly documentation using a computerPerform light electrical assembly and welding dutiesPerform all manual and automated assembly operationsPalletizing items that come off the assembly lineComplete required data gathering transactions to facilitate assembly progressionForming or building the correct packaging for the assembly lineWork from bills of materials and assembly drawings (blueprints)Perform assembly-type functions, using hand or power toolsFollow all established procedures for the assembly process Test ironsAdjust work pieces and electrical parts to facilitate wiring and assemblyAssembled and tested to specific requirements to meet customer orders including tube bending, pipe assembly, electrical assembly and relevant test proceduresPerform shipping, receiving and skidding of power unit/assembly projectsRead and interpret blue prints, work instructions and assembly methodsIdentify and select components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly unitsUse a variety of hand and air driven tools for assembly and disassembly
