CNC Machinist - Turning & MillingLocation: Connecticut | OnsiteCompensation & Schedule• $40.00/hour• 60-hour weekly guarantee (first/last week paid on actuals)• Duration: TBD (please prepare for 3-month assignment)• $50/day per diem• Flights and single-occupancy lodging provided• W2 employment• Immediate start• ITAR Facility - must bring appropriate documentationROLE IMPACTAs a CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in precision manufacturing across multiple facilities, contributing to both new production and complex repair operations. Success in this role means executing high-tolerance, one-off and low-lot machining with autonomy, accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality standards.KEY DUTIES• Set up and operate CNC turning centers, vertical/horizontal lathes, and 3-5 axis machining centers• Perform machine prep: cleaning, loading tools/inserts, aligning, and zeroing machines• Interpret imperial blueprints and sequential operation/setup sheets• Conduct in-process checks, FAIs, and FPIs using workbench gauges• Machine components made from titanium, nickel, Inconel, and similar materials• Program using G&M code; adjust to live tooling and multi-axis requirements• For EDM roles: set up and operate Wire and/or Ram/Sinker EDM equipmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• 3+ years CNC machining experience (Turning, Milling, or EDM)• Proficient in G&M code programming• Experience machining high-performance materials• Ability to perform full setup and produce one-off/low-lot components independentlyEQUIPMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT• 3-5 axis horizontal machining centers (HMCs), vertical turning lathes (VTLs), and EDM units• Facility-specific requirements may include:- CSMC: 5-axis HMC and live tooling turning setups- EHRO: Wire and Ram EDM; monitor up to 3 machines- HSMC North: G&L VTLs and 5-axis HMCs• Physical tasks include standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and machine-side inspections• Exposure to machining noise and coolant environmentsPREFERRED SKILLS• Conversational CNC controller experience• 5-axis machining experience• Multi-machine monitoring proficiency (for EDM roles)LEGAL NOTICEBy applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from CornerStone and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
