Job Title: Administrative Support Specialist Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite at Government Facility) Pay Rate: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Type: Full-Time, Contract Position Summary Are you detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with administrative work? Join a dedicated team supporting a government agency in Columbus, OH. As an Administrative Support Specialist , you'll play a critical role in maintaining office operations, managing communications, and providing high-level clerical support to the bureau. This role is ideal for candidates who are efficient, tech-savvy, and comfortable handling sensitive data and documents with accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming calls, take messages, and route communication as needed. Prepare and proofread official correspondence, forms, and emails using Microsoft Word and Excel. Conduct mail merges and create cover letters for outgoing correspondence. Obtain and track document signatures, ensuring 100% accuracy and proper formatting. Log and manage incoming and outgoing documentation using a data tracking system. Compile data reports and create charts/graphs for internal presentations. Assist with managing office operations, including handling mail, ordering supplies, and maintaining records. Support the preparation of payroll, budget tracking, and invoice processing. Serve as a liaison for internal staff and external contacts, providing excellent customer service. Assist with public inquiries, prepare memos, respond to emails, and participate in special projects. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel (mail merges, chart creation, and formatting). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent proofreading and document editing abilities. Experience with data entry and records management preferred. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a professional government environment. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Desired Skills Strong organizational and administrative skills. Familiarity with government processes and procedures is a plus.
