Machine Operator

Job Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for assembling filter bag cages, preparing boxes for shipment, and maintaining the cleanliness of the work area. This role involves working with resistance welders, checking product quality, and supporting shipping activities. Key Responsibilities: Weld collars, vents, and/or cups onto wire cages using resistance welders. Inspect cages for broken welds by performing a quality test (bouncing and listening for rattles). Assemble boxes by retrieving and stapling flaps to prepare for packaging. Package completed cages into boxes and move them to the shipping area. Communicate any issues or concerns to the Production Line Foreman. Transport damaged cages to the welding booth for repairs. Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the shift. Assist in loading trucks as needed. Math Skills: Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers. Ability to work with measurements, including weight, volume, and distance. Physical Requirements: Regularly stand, use hands, and reach with arms. Frequently walk and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and/or move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. For items over 50 pounds, team lifting is required. Use foot pedals and maintain specific vision requirements, including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
