Automatics Machine Operator

Nesco Resource is hiring an Automatics Machine Operator for an independently owned metal parts manufacturer in Elmira, NY. This company has been delivering high-quality parts to well-known customers in the transportation industry since 1929. Position: Automatics Machine Operator Summary: Operate multiple spindle screw machines to perform machining operations on metal bar stock, ensuring compliance with customer, company, and OSHA standards. Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or vocational training in Precision Machining. Equivalent experience accepted. 1-2 years of experience as a machine operator in manufacturing. Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers). Responsibilities: Inspect metal parts for defects. Use personal protective equipment. Set cutting speeds, feed rates, and tools. Operate machine controls and automatic feeds. Verify product dimensions and specifications. Read and follow work orders and blueprints. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of work area. Report malfunctions and perform minor repairs. Follow safety protocols and company policies. Perform routine maintenance. Skills: Understanding of measurement principles and blueprint reading. Ability to work with oils, cutting fluids, and heavy lifting. Strong hand/eye coordination and attention to detail. Basic math skills and knowledge of federal and state regulations. Problem-solving, time management, and the ability to work various schedules. Note: Additional duties as directed by supervision.
