My client, one of the top general contractors for multifamily in the Midwest, is growing and looking to add a superintendent in Milwaukee. They are looking for an excellent superintendent to join their team and help grow their reputation as the Midwest's best multifamily builder.Client DetailsMy client specialize in constructing multifamily residences, affordable housing communities, and mixed-use developments. Beyond constructing living spaces, they craft environments that empower their clients and the communities they are built in.Company Overview:Founded: early 1980sRevenue: approx. $700MBacklog: $1B across all officesProcurement Strategy of Work: all negotiatedReason for Opening: they have signed a couple of large jobs in Milwaukee and Madison Reputation: ENR Top 100 contractor and 10th largest multifamily builder in the USCulture: family-oriented and focused on doing good constructionOffice Location: city center in MadisonProject Locations: this position would focus on projects in greater Milwaukee but would occasionally do projects in MadisonDescriptionExamine architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, electrical, and landscaping plans for accuracy, feasibility, alternative options, clashes, and dimensions.Validate Building Specification for material, subcontractor, and equipment requirements, while identifying potential conflicts within project documents.Supervise and organize the construction site, encompassing trailer setup, signage, material arrangement, vehicle entry, and temporary utility provisions.Establish an organized system for managing project plans, communication, correspondence, and subcontractor agreements.Implement safety protocols and relevant company initiatives to meet OSHA standards and ensure a secure work environment.Foster a positive client relationship, emphasizing critical path identification for meeting the owner's timeline expectations.Conduct regular project inspections, prioritizing owner's concerns and interests.Monitor labor productivity and promptly report any deviations from the original budget to the company.Calculate and analyze project material quantities based on construction documents, and communicate any deviations from budgeted quantities to the company.Execute the project's quality assurance program by thorough review, coordination, and implementation.Coordinate project layout and field conditions by reviewing and aligning shop drawings and construction documents across various disciplines.Oversee project punchlist completion across all disciplines to meet the requirements for obtaining a certificate of occupancy.Profile8+ years of construction experience, preferably in multifamily construction, with a focus on rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and concrete work.College education is a beneficial asset.Proficiency in all facets of construction, including technology, equipment, and methods.Familiarity with the local market is advantageous.Demonstrated strong leadership and management abilities, with a track record of meeting project schedules.Skill in identifying, investigating, and quantifying project issues, along with assessing alternative solutions and their outcomes.Effective verbal and written communication skills, fostering positive interactions with colleagues and clients.Proficient in using construction management software such as Procore, Timberline, Bluebeam, CMiC, PlanGrid, Textura, and Field ID.Proficient in using internet resources and Microsoft Office 365.Job OfferCompensation:Strong base ($110k-$125k)Vehicle allowance ($5k-$10k)All gas paid3-4 week of PTO95% of healthcare is covered with a great provider401(k) with strong company matchDiscretionary bonus (approx. 10% per year)Building Environment:Collaborative environmentWork with teammates who have extensive construction knowledgeExcellent subcontractor poolLots of repeat clients who understand the building processRealistic timelinesGenerally the building team is comprised of the superintendent (you potentially), an assistant superintendent, and a field engineer (may not be one if it is a smaller job) + a project managerMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
