The Operation Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of operation strategies in order to achieve production, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This position will oversee multiple projects a team of purchasing, inventory, and production optimization. This position will be more of a high level executive positionThe job requirements include but are not limited to the following:Core Value ExpectationsActively pursue high character, high trust, and high performance personally, corporately, and in all aspects of the positionProvide distinctive quality and unparalleled customer service both internally and externallyDemonstrate and promote integrity, respect, and teamworkInvite others to help you grow through living authentically with nothing to prove, lose or hideEvidence humility by actively receiving teaching and mentoring Primary Role ExpectationsPromote the company mission, purpose, and core values in all activities and dutiesDevelop the strategic direction for the operation team to drive organic growth while maintaining profitability and maximizing resourcesLead and develop a high-performance operations team including appropriate goalsetting, performance management and establishment of production metrics to ensure overall goals are achievedAnalyze and understand production processes to develop solutions and strategies to improve KPI's and profitabilityWork with leadership as well as internal and external resources to ensure delivery of customer expectations and quality product while ensuring safety of employeesMust have experience with heavy highway, roads and bridgesOperationsDevelop an operation strategy and implement initiatives for the team to grow the business by achieving production, safety, and quality goals.Own the overall operations process and execution including aiding in process improvements through the enhancements of production processes via continuous improvement initiativesProactive approach to identifying issues to minimize production bottlenecksLead and assist in optimizing the full production process from order creation through building shipment including areas such as purchasing, inventory, production, etc. to increase production throughput and ensure quality productsTrain and develop the operation teams through effective continuous improvement development, performance management, and succession planning including conducting operation team meetings as well as individual 1:1sFocus on enhancing and developing an improved recruiting and onboarding program in conjunction with HR for welders, fitters, machine operators, inspectors, purchasing, inventory, etc. prioritizing the needs for succession planning of existing operations staff.Planning and Business IntelligencePartner with GM to establish sales and financial goals for the company in coordination with leadership and plan and direct the operation team to meet these goalsDevelop and implement a manufacturing optimization plan with monthly goals and updatesImplement initiatives to fulfill the annual optimization plan with monthly changes and updatesProvide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of production metricsAnalyze and develop KPIs to enhance our understanding of our existing processes, technologies, headcount, equipment, etc to drive improved company and individual employee performanceEnsure process documentation is routinely updatedCommunityMotivate and manage personnel to meet operational and financial goalsCreate unity by working with all employees and stakeholders to meet needs and improve processesSelect, assign, and develop operation staff; conduct performance reviews; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problemsEnsure a safe and healthy work environment for all employeesKnow each employee by name, demonstrate care and trust and build relationships as applicableQualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred5 years of applicable, industry, and leadership experienceStrong knowledge in the manufacturing processes driven by production metrics. Pre-engineered metal building manufacturing experience preferredProven track record in managing an operations team in a manufacturing environment.
