Director of Finance About Our Client Our client manages several luxury properties in CT and NY, and they are looking for a strategic leader to join their Corporate Finance team. The Director of Finance supervises and directs all financial activities of the properties, safeguards assets, and prepares comprehensive financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide financial analysis and cost-benefit solutions for leadership Participate in executive meetings and support department managers with financial guidance Ensure compliance with standards, address audit deficiencies, and maintain robust internal controls Oversee cash management, asset protection, and inventory auditing processes Maintain expertise in relevant contracts and hospitality tax regulations Lead annual operating budget preparation and capital expenditure planning Control capital projects and perform ROI analysis for investment decisions Prepare accurate financial statements, implement timely corrections, and notify leadership of financial concerns Deliver regular sales/profit updates and coordinate labor management systems Complete corporate financial reporting requirements Oversee aging accounts, credit policies, and approval protocols for major accounts Review event functions for proper credit extensions and manage bad debt metrics Maximize receivable collection through proactive management Reconcile accounts and establish appropriate balances for accruals and prepaid expenses Monitor inventory turn ratios and partner with managers to control stock levels Ensure compliance with payment procedures Maintain job standards, compensation policies, and attendance requirements Implement cross-training initiatives and recruit qualified financial talent Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Property Management preferred 3+ years of experience in leadership role Analytical approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail and accuracy Assertive, professional demeanor with executive presence Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt communication style to different audiences Proficiency with hospitality accounting software and financial management systems
