This role is responsible for managing the company's legal affairs, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, overseeing contract negotiations, managing litigation, and mitigating legal risks. The ideal candidate will provide sound legal guidance that protects the company's interests while supporting its strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:Provide legal counsel to the CEO and executive leadership on a wide range of corporate mattersEnsure compliance with labor laws, industry regulations, and internal policiesDraft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and legal documentsRepresent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, settlement negotiations, and court appearancesDraft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and responses to interrogatoriesDevelop and implement the company's corporate legal strategyManage and maintain legal records, documentation, and proceedingsOversee and coordinate with outside counsel, particularly on General Liability and Workers' Compensation mattersIdentify legal risks within business operations and recommend mitigation strategiesNegotiate and review real estate leases and related agreementsCollaborate with senior leadership to support business initiatives with legal insight and risk analysisQualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) Strong knowledge of corporate law, labor law, regulatory compliance, and litigationAbility to interpret complex legal and business issues and translate them into practical legal adviceUnderstanding of the legal challenges facing retail or similar industriesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsSuperior communication and interpersonal abilitiesHigh standards of professional ethics, integrity, and judgmentInterested in hearing more?
