This position is responsible for quantitative and qualitative research support for the Corporate Strategy & Insights department of Cotton Incorporated. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: analyzing raw data, summarizing quantitative and qualitative research from primary and secondary data sources (global consumer behavioral, retail, attitudinal, and advertising research data along with government-issued pricing and import data for textile products) into market and consumer insights in the form of slide presentations, written publications, and reports. The position will also respond to internal and external requests for information related to market dynamics (apparel, home textiles, nonwovens, etc.), consumer behaviors, and fiber preferences and usage. Core Functions: • Prepare presentations, information requests, and various outlines for internal and external use based on primary and secondary research and analysis (topics include but are not limited to global retail and consumer trends as well as specific market analyses such as the U.S., China, India, Denim, Activewear, Feminine hygiene, Baby wipes & diapers, Sustainability, Home Textiles, Children's clothing, etc.) • Create outlines for infographics and presentations based on primary and secondary research and analysis of multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative) • Identify trends and develop recommendations for future research topics or storylines based on research findings • Gather, analyze, and summarize supply chain statistics from retail through consumer research into consumable outreach materials or supplements to presentations • Locate and manage secondary sources of research used to supplement reports and presentations • Respond to information requests in both verbal and written formats (slides, bullet points, data tables, etc.) • Present research findings to a wide variety of internal and external audiences as needed • Compile reports based on targeted research findings and trends • Derive information from historical and new studies for use in Cotton Incorporated's publications and other corporate marketing needs • Provide timely, accurate information and analysis for special requests and special projects • Assist with other departmental research projects as needed Job Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics or other related field; Master's degree in marketing, analytics, or other related field, a plus • 5+ years related work experience • Ability to analyze research statistics and compile summarized trends into easily consumable presentations and publications for internal and external outreach • Ability to analyze primary data on a demographic/retail level to understand what is statistically significant and important for making decisions • Proficiency with statistical and survey software such as SPSS, Text Analytics, SAS, Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, or others • Proficiency with Microsoftâ„¢ Office Suite (PowerPoint and Excel, with presentation design and graphing skills, a must) • Ability to write reports and articles based on analysis, with a demonstrable quality of work • Ability to work independently and with a team on most aspects of projects with minimal supervision • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages and to meet deadlines • Ability to think creatively about market research analysis topics and outreach materials • Strong work ethic combined with self-motivation and personal initiative • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) • Ability to present research findings to a wide variety of audiences • Strict attention to detail • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service attitude • Interest in analyzing research pertaining to (but not limited to) apparel, home textiles, nonwovens (such as feminine hygiene, baby wipes & diapers, etc.), retail sales, textile performance features, and related research • Familiarity with questionnaire development and/or field research • Familiarity with artificial intelligence • This position requires domestic travel 10% of the time Working Conditions / Physical Demands: • General office environment with quiet to moderate noise level • Varied working conditions off-site due to travel • Business casual dress clothes required • Regularly required to sit and use hands to type and grasp, with frequent standing, walking, and bending/twisting at the neck/waist • Occasionally required to push, pull, and reach above/below shoulder level • Occasionally required to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds • Frequently required to have face-to-face and telephone interaction with internal staff and external contacts • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Cotton Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
