Grounds Maintenance/landscaper/Lawn Maintenance

Title: Grounds Maintenance Location: Hixson, TN 37343 Shift time M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with OT and alternative Saturdays Contract Temp-to-Hire Key Responsibilities: Grounds keeping: Mow lawns, trim edges, rake leaves, and remove debris. Prune shrubs and trees. Plant flowers, grass, and other greenery. Maintain irrigation systems (minor repairs, adjustments). Apply fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides as needed. Grave and Site Preparation: Assist in opening and closing graves and setting up tents, chairs, and grave markers. Install memorial markers and monuments. Ensure gravesites are properly filled, leveled, and seeded. Equipment Use and Maintenance: Operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, etc.). Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery. General Maintenance: Maintain clean and orderly appearance of cemetery grounds and facilities. Repair walkways, fences, and other structures as needed. Assist with snow removal or storm cleanup as necessary. Skills and Qualifications: Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely. Basic knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance. Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Attention to detail, especially when handling gravesites and memorials. Professional and respectful demeanor when on-site, especially around grieving families. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or cemetery operations. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Certification for pesticide or chemical application (varies by state).
