About the Role As Public Relations Manager, you will be the voice and face of REMC: leading strategic communication initiatives, cultivating media relationships, and managing high-profile public events. You'll work across departments to deliver clear, consistent, and engaging messaging that reflects our values and amplifies our mission. Whether you're crafting a compelling story, responding to media inquiries, or organizing a community outreach program, no two days are the same. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. 10+ years of relevant experience preferred-especially in media relations, community engagement, or electric utility environments is preferred. Strong writing, editing, and public speaking skills. Proficiency in digital media tools, video production, and graphic design software is preferred. Outgoing personality with the ability to connect and build relationships. Willingness to travel locally and attend events beyond regular hours when needed. A team player with creative energy and strategic thinking. Key Responsibilities Serve as REMC's spokesperson and primary media contact. Plan and implement public relations campaigns and community outreach initiatives. Create high-quality content for newsletters, press releases, videos, graphics, and social media. Manage vendor relationships and ensure brand consistency across platforms. Lead efforts for our youth programs, charitable campaigns, and civic engagement. Organize and emcee community events and represent REMC at local functions. Collaborate with internal departments to align messaging and strategic goals. Support emergency communications and real-time media responses during outages or weather events.
