Exceed your potential with VoltVolt is immediately hiring for an Assembly Lead in Milpitas, CA.General Purpose: Responsible for providing leadership and direction to groups of non-exempt employees. Principle Accountabilities:Provide ongoing feedback on performance of individuals through both formal and informal evaluations.Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.Coordinate people resource requirements for the department.Assist in department budget planning and manage department expenses.Communicate daily plan and any production or customer service issuesHighlight material shortages, interface with Expediter/Purchasing on any part shortagesRecognize and monitor bottlenecks.Report and alert resources concerning downtime.Interface with Test Support/Maintenance on equipment problems.Track time for NPI/Pre-production/re-work.Communicate with opposite shift to ensure communication flow.Update department communication boardsEducation/Experience: Typically requires an Associate's Degree, vocational or technical training, or equivalent experience.  Typically requires 2 years of related experience. Knowledge/Skills: Has awareness of Flex technologies/ techniques.  Demonstrates functional and/or process knowledge and participates in process.  Requires high level of competency related to function.  Demonstrates advanced technical skills. Ability to read and comprehend and interpret moderately complex instructions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CAPICs/APICs certification an asset. Scope/Impact: Moderate impact.  May have influence on multiple programs or areas. Decision Making/Discretion: Can perform analyses/work using some independent judgment. Decisions affect team. Supervision/Leadership: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments. Receives little to no instruction.  Requires little to no supervision. May provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and occasionally works in job assignments that may require overtime and 2nd or 3rd shift job assignments as required.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
