Job Description

 The WESTERN MUTUAL INSURANCE GROUP has been providing excellent customer service to homeowners throughout the Southwestern United States for over 80 years.  We are rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company and have been named among the Top 50 Property Casualty Insurers in the country by Ward's.  Our CFO will administer and coordinate the activities of our Company's finance and accounting in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives established by the CEO. He or she will report directly to the President and CEO, will be a hands-on executive and will hold responsibilities that may include but are not limited to: ·         Full charge responsibility for all accounting staff, practices, and operations; ·         Full charge responsibilities for all corporation finances; ·         Identifying and managing banking relationships; ·         Budgeting, summarizing and forecasting the Company's financial status; ·         Producing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements ·         Reporting to and complying with Department of Insurance and other regulatory agencies; ·         Complying with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting; ·         Overseeing tax liability, filing and returns and working with state and federal tax agencies; ·         Coordinating and managing internal and external financial audits; ·         Providing reinsurance financial reporting; ·         Providing documentation and presentation to external evaluating agencies such as A.M. Best to enhance Company ratings; ·         Providing financial reporting for Board of Directors; ·         Working collaboratively with Claims, Marketing, Underwriting, IT and other Company departments to improve overall financial processes ·         Proposing and implementing initiatives for efficiency, effectiveness and for cost saving measures; ·         CPA designation preferred ·         Knowledge and experience in the Property/Casualty Industry preferred ·         Knowledge and experience with premium accounting, reserves and Statutory Accounting Principles preferred ·         Knowledge and experience with Power BI preferred The successful candidate will possess at a minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance or closely related field. He or she will be someone with exceptional integrity and accountability and perform with the highest standards for professional conduct, performance and character. In addition, this person should have experience with and be proficient in automated processes, especially with accounting systems and can evaluate and make recommendations for improvement and efficiency through automation.
