As a member of the packaging team, you will be responsible for inspecting and package seal meat products by client requirement or instructions prior to being labeled and palletized by the Labeling team. Meat Packager Full Job Descriptions Deliver daily objectives determined by plant management. Take action for any deviations provided by the supervisor. Verifying the equipment and tables are set up for production. Supply sealer machine and packaging tables with necessary materials. Operate packing equipment using several touch screen computers. Unload meat products from barrels to the packaging table. Inspect meat product & Package according to packaging instructions. Seal meat product and inspect for seal failures for rework Transport product on barrels to labeling area for next department procedures. Monitor products and packages for quality control. Report any food safety issue observed to the manager/supervisor. Maintain a food-safe sanitary environment at all times. Responsible for housekeeping of the packaging area machine and plant area (e.g. sweeping the floor, removing trash, cleaning the machine at the end of the shift, preparing for next shift's production Complete records/quality checks with accuracy and attention to detail. Follow Company's quality assurance procedures and protocols at all times while on duty (e.g. Labeling of containers, Inventory Control, PM programs). Promote a positive proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged. Communicate with other employees in the packaging department in a proactive and professional manner. Maintain standards as they apply to packaging equipment (e.g. quality, finished products, and machine operations). Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary. Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary. Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor. Qualifications: A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to communicate in English effectively verbally and in written form. Previous "hands on operating experience related to this field Experience operating high speed packing equipment is desired. Three to five (3-5) years' related experience in a manufacturing environment; increasing levels of responsibility preferred. Skills: Basic computer skills (touch screen). Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Takes direction well, open to feedback and does not have a problem submitting to authority. Physical Requirements:: Regularly required to walk, stand, push, and work long hours. Regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds; occasionally lift/move objects weighing greater than 75 pounds. Regularly climb ladders and occasionally work at heights of 100 feet. Environment:: Regularly exposed to work under 40 degrees temperature. Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels. Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
