Onsite Medical Records Specialist - $20/hr

Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Records Specialist to join our healthcare records team. This position is responsible for processing all ROI requests efficiently and accurately while safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.Key Responsibilities:Retrieve and return patient medical charts; scan records according to established procedures and quality standardsValidate requests and authorizations for medical record release based on legal and company guidelinesPerform quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and correct billingHandle incoming ROI requests via mail, phone, fax, email, or online submission toolsMaintain equipment and work area in excellent conditionDeliver exceptional customer service by being attentive, respectful, and responsive to client needsStay current on applicable state laws and fee structuresOrder paper records from storage vendors, scan upon arrival, and ensure timely returnComply with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and client/site policiesPay: $20/hrQualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to operate fax machines, copiers, and scannersStrong documentation, communication, and customer service skillsSelf-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a teamProven ability to meet productivity, utilization, and quality performance standardsPay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
