This unit handles a variety of patient types, including those undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and more. The RN will work with a team to ensure high-quality care and assist with early ambulation post-surgery.Responsibilities: Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care for surgical and medical patients. Perform bedside shift reports as an expectation of the unit. Potentially manage heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN among other tasks. Float to medical and telemetry units when needed.Requirements: Current BLS certification. Preferably have surgical experience, post-op, and early ambulation experience. Open to assisting with telemetry strips, though not reading them independently.
