The Merchandising & Marketing Operations Specialist must function successfully under the idea that retail is detail. The ability to tackle and progress multiple tasks and projects congruently is crucial.Essential Duties and Responsibilities As a member of the Merchandising & Marketing Operations Team, this position supports day-to-day activities for the development of new locations and supports the acquisition of existing Ace Hardware dealers, working closely with Store Operations, Category Management, Marketing and Visual Merchandising to ensure the accurate and timely flow of merchandising-related information and materials for the projects. This role is a key resource for employees in acquired locations as they navigate new processes, procedures and systems related to merchandising initiatives. Support new store initiatives with vendor setup and SKU setup, as well as vendor communication for all new locations. Provide ongoing support to the Store Teams as new stores are brought online after acquisition. Maintain accurate vendor information and product level information included SKU, UPC, cost, style and pricing information in our merchandise management system. Troubleshoot individual store issues in conjunction with the appropriate Category Manager, SSC counterpart, and/or vendor, resolving discrepancies with orders, receipts, packing slips as needed. Support the development of strong vendor partnerships, with prompt response and resolution to vendor issues and opportunities. Develop a basic working knowledge of Business Intelligence software reporting capability, to support Category Managers with weekly/monthly reporting where identified. Perform other related duties and special projects, as assigned.This position is also a key participant within Merchandising & Marketing Operations. Serve as the liaison for ACE Advertising materials, managing schedules and ensuring deliverables are received. Provide feedback to the ACE team on opportunities for improvements within the process. Prep materials for monthly planning meetings and lead certain sections within those planning meetings. Play an active role in the proofing of marketing materials prior to distribution. Work with the ACE team on creation of Westlake bulletins for monthly promotional efforts. Transfer Westlake bulletin line lists into Promo Manager to support monthly ordering activities. Perform quality checks within promotion entry striving toward a cleaner first proof. Maintain accuracy of Store Attributes within our master database and our websites and communicate necessary updates to a third party. Ensure timely completion of Product Sync updates, process New Store Funds for collection to support Accountings COOP collections, and maintain accurate, up-to-date Exclusion files. Address Zoho tickets that are submitted by a store(s) and assigned to the Promo Team. Partner with Inventory Management, Marketing, Category Management and/or the Information Technology Teams to research and resolve said issues. This also involves prepping communication about the resolution back out to the store(s) along with any necessary action the store(s) need to take as part of the fix. Interest or class work in Merchandising or Buying a plus. Experience with JDA or other MMS systems a plus. Strong working knowledge of Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment. Demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, be highly self-motivated. Excellent people and organizational skills. Analytical thinker, team player, customer-focused, business minded. Travel as required.
