Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide compassionate, expert respiratory care for neonatal patients in a Level II NICUPerform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization per NRP guidelinesOperate and manage neonatal respiratory equipment and ventilators safely and effectivelyDocument assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in MEDHOSTFloat between College Station and Bryan campuses as first-to-float when neededPrecept and mentor newer clinicians when requested by the unitCollaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and family educationAdhere to unit policies and attendance expectations; minimize callouts to maintain team continuity QualificationsRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential via NBRC required — CRT not acceptedCurrent NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification requiredBLS, ACLS and PALS certifications requiredMinimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience; NICU experience required and must feel comfortable with that patient populationExperience with MEDHOST or similar electronic charting systems preferredAbility to float between College Station and Bryan campuses (16-minute drive) as neededCandidates must NOT have been employed (FT/PT/PRN) by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms will be considered EducationRRT (NBRC) credential required; BSN not required Knowledge & SkillsStrong neonatal respiratory assessment and ventilator management skillsProficiency in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) protocolsFamiliarity with MEDHOST charting and documentation workflowsTrauma awareness and ability to escalate appropriately (trauma level 3 environment)Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity neonatal settingsPrecepting and teaching skills to support new or traveling staff BenefitsA supportive team that values YOU — collaborate with skilled NICU clinicians every shiftOpportunities to precept and grow your clinical leadership skillsConsistent 12-hour day schedule for predictable work-life balanceComprehensive orientation so you hit the floor confident (12 orientation hours)Professional development — maintain and sharpen your NRP, ACLS, PALS skills on the unitWork with modern charting (MEDHOST) to streamline documentationA collegial environment at a Level II NICU where your neonatal expertise mattersReferral and internal recognition programs that celebrate great teammates Apply Now Ready to start your next adventure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU?
