Pay: $58 per hour Shift Information: Nights Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified Telemetry RN in bismarck, North Dakota, 58501!Registered Nurse - MedSurg – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - MedSurg Location: Bismarck, NDStart Date: 02-02-2026End Date: 05-04-2026Contract Type: Travel ContractShift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (may float to Days: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM); every other weekend; holidays as needed. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide expert postoperative care and promote early ambulation to speed recoveryMonitor patients closely, recognizing and escalating any changes in conditionManage wound drains (Hemovac, JP) and support colostomy care with compassion and skillAdminister and manage PCA pumps, incidental heparin drips and TPN per unit protocolsFloat to medical and telemetry areas as needed and collaborate with monitor techsDeliver clear bedside shift reports to ensure safe, seamless patient handoffsSupport orthopedic and spinal surgery patients through total joint and spinal post-op careWork alongside RT and tech staff to troubleshoot respiratory needs and coordinate careTeach patients and families about post-op care, wound/drain management and discharge plans QualificationsActive RN license (eligible to work in North Dakota) requiredBLS certification requiredMinimum 2 years of nursing experience (MedSurg or surgical/post-op experience preferred)Comfortable with EPIC charting system (unit uses EPIC)Able and willing to float to medical and telemetry unitsComfortable caring for bariatric patients and those with colostomies or drainsOK with first-time travel nurses; open-minded and team-oriented approach welcomedAble to meet upfront scheduling expectations (RTO requirement: 7 or fewer days off per 13-week contract) EducationActive RN license in good standingBLS certification requiredBSN not required Knowledge & SkillsPostoperative nursing care and early ambulation facilitationFamiliarity with EPIC charting and electronic documentation workflowsExperience with PCA pumps, TPN management and occasional heparin dripsWound and drain care including Hemovac and JP drainsTelemetry awareness and ability to work with remote tele/monitor techsColostomy care and bariatric patient handlingStrong bedside assessment, patient monitoring and escalation skillsEffective bedside shift reporting and interdisciplinary communication BenefitsComprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage to keep you healthy and at your bestSupportive team culture where your bedside skills and voice are valuedGenerous paid time off so you can recharge between contractsLicensure assistance and reimbursement to make state paperwork easierTravel assignment perks like housing assistance and travel supportProfessional development opportunities and CE support to grow your careerReferral bonus program to reward you for bringing great teammatesFlexible scheduling options and the possibility of block scheduling when the unit allowsOrientation and unit-specific support to help you hit the ground running Travel Perks: Explore Bismarck, ND Bismarck is a friendly capital city with easy access to outdoor recreation and regional culture.
