CDL A / LD Driver Job DescriptionThe CDL/LD Driver is responsible for managing Interstate shipments for residential clients. They will supervise and assist with the loading/unloading of shipments and operate tractor trailer equipment. The driver prioritizes safety procedures on the road and during home operations. Additionally, they strive to deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, ensuring an overall 5-star moving experience. Responsibilities encompass driving equipment, communicating with clients and operations, coordinating and overseeing labor, and assisting with the documentation, including BOL, inventory, weight tickets, ELDs, etc.Duties will include: Coordinating pickup/delivery of shipments by communicating with Clients, Operations, and Labor.Ensuring accurate completion and signing of all required documents.Adhering to DOT requirements and safety measures, including the proper use of ELDs, to include (DVIR, HOS-RODS, Shipper ID.Maintaining equipment and promptly communicating with the Fleet Department for any issues or necessary repairs. Overseeing and ensuring the proper packing/loading/unloading processes for shipments.Conducting a comprehensive inventory for all shipments.Providing detailed trip briefs to Operations daily.Skills needed:Proficient communication skills, both oral and written, for professional interactions with colleagues, company partners, and potential contacts.Exceptional customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and address inquiries or concerns.Competent in computer and other related technology skills necessary to execute essential functions.Display the capability to manage multiple projects and details concurrently.Quick thinking and effective problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues during transit.Efficiently manage time to adhere to schedules and delivery deadlines.Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions, traffic, and unforeseen challenges on the road.Exceptional precision and attention to detail.Knowledge and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations governing commercial transportation.Accountability:Participate in all long distance and CDL related meetings.Adhere to all safety protocols set by the company.Communicate successfully with all parties to ensure success of trips.Provide all required documentation as determined by the company, which includes but is not limited to receipts, ELD logs, Inventory, Weight Tickets, BOLs, PODs, etc.Conduct proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues related to equipment to the Fleet Department.Report all damages immediately to supervisor.Ensure all equipment and inventory is loaded, balanced and safe from damage.Conduct a thorough inventory of all shipments in accordance with company standard and requirements.Complete detailed trip debriefs with the Operations team.Demonstrate exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on industry best practices.2950 E.
