Platform Integration Software EngineerAbout the OpportunityWe’re hiring a Platform Integration Software Engineer to help take advanced detection systems from prototype to production-grade, mission-critical services. This is a fast-moving, high-impact engagement where you’ll work on two parallel, real-world engineering initiatives that support large-scale infrastructure operations.If you enjoy event-driven systems, care deeply about reliability and observability, and want to see your work deployed and used quickly—this role was built for you.Required Skills & Experience1) Cloud Software Engineering – 8+ YearsStrong experience building cloud-native services (functions, containers)Expertise in concurrency, state management, and performance tuningProven ability to design for failure and operational resilienceComfortable owning services end-to-end, including documentation and support readiness2) Event-Driven Architecture – 5+ YearsHands-on experience with Event Hubs, Kafka, or Service BusDeep understanding of replay, checkpointing, backpressure, and delivery semanticsExperience managing schema evolution and versioned event payloadsStrong monitoring and DLQ management practices3) CI/CD & Observability – 5+ YearsBuilding secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and quality gatesInstrumenting systems with logs, metrics, and distributed tracingDefining and monitoring SLOs; creating actionable alerts and dashboardsShipping changes safely and frequently in production environmentsProject OverviewThis program consists of two concurrent workstreams, each executed by a small, cross-functional team:Retrofit systems for existing infrastructureNew-build systems for next-generation deploymentsEach team includes:2 Software Engineers1 Product Manager1 Data Scientist(Occasionally) a Mechanical or Electrical SMEYou will work closely with a paired Platform Integration Engineer, with minimal cross-team dependency—allowing for speed, ownership, and focus.What You’ll Be DoingThis role is centered on productionization and operationalization—turning detection logic into reliable, scalable, and observable cloud services.Day-to-day responsibilities include:Designing and implementing event-driven services to move detection data through production systemsBuilding durable producers and consumers with replay, checkpointing, backpressure, and ordering guaranteesImplementing reliability patterns: retries, idempotency, DLQs, and defensive error handlingCreating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with security and quality gatesInstrumenting services with logging, metrics, tracing, SLOs, and alertsWriting runbooks and operational documentation to support production readinessPartnering with analytics and solutions engineers to harden low/no-code detectors into production servicesSupporting production validation and incident triage when neededTechnology EnvironmentLanguages: C# (preferred), C++ or Rust acceptableCloud & Messaging: Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Hubs / Kafka, Service BusDevOps: Azure DevOps CI/CDArchitecture: Event-driven, distributed systemsFocus Areas: Reliability, observability, scale, operational excellenceWhat Sets Top Candidates ApartTop performers in this role:Design clean, resilient, highly observable systemsAnticipate failure modes before they happenUnderstand messaging semantics deeply—not just “how,” but “why”Collaborate closely with analytics partners to move fast without breaking productionAverage performers:Can implement features but rely on others for reliability, observability, or release rigorWhy This Role Is CompellingWork on cutting-edge detection and telemetry systemsHigh visibility, high trust, and real ownershipModern cloud tooling with minimal bureaucracyA team culture that values engineering craftsmanshipOpportunity to prove impact quickly—and extend beyond the initial engagementJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
