OverviewThis telecommunications team specializes in four major areas:LMR (Land Mobile Radio)IBS/IDAS (In‑Building Systems / Distributed Antenna Systems)ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems)Physical SecurityThey support a wide range of in‑building wireless projects across federal, state, and local government, as well as education, transportation, stadiums/venues, and healthcare environments. Work includes construction, installation, and maintenance of in‑building wireless access points and DAS infrastructure.This specific role supports the Tennessee market, with additional travel to Richmond, VA when needed.Scope of WorkTechnicians will support:DAS and low‑voltage installationsPublic safety systemsFiber and coax installationODAS/IDAS systemsNew construction and existing campus environmentsMost work is concentrated on a major university campus in Tennessee, but coverage extends statewide. Occasional travel to Richmond, VA is required.Travel RequirementsUp to 50% travel in the worst‑case scenarioOvernight stays in Richmond for up to 4 nights at a timeTravel via company vehicleHotel accommodations provided$65/day per diem for overnight travelPosition: DAS Installation TechnicianSchedule: 40‑hour work week, Monday–Friday (typically 8 AM–5 PM), with overtime opportunitiesResponsibilitiesLead a two‑person team (technician + helper)Install, test, and troubleshoot coax and fiber systemsRack and stack equipment; cable dressing and labelingPerform low‑voltage cabling workRead and work from blueprints and schematicsProvide job documentation, photos, and updates to the construction managerWork with 1/2" coax and equipment from major OEMs (e.g., OTDR, Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, etc.)Required Experience3+ years of experience in wireless/DAS, voice, or data installationStrong coax installation skillsExperience with fiber (testing, terminating, pulling; splicing is a plus)Ability to lead small teams and delegate tasksExperience with ISP/network cable constructionFamiliarity with testing tools (OTDR, Fluke, etc.)Position: HelperRequirementsMechanical aptitude and basic hand‑tool knowledgeOpen to candidates with minimal experience or trade‑school backgroundStrong work ethic and willingness to learnAccountability and teamwork mindsetAdditional Skills & QualificationsReliable and hardworkingStrong communication skillsAbility to problem‑solve and think criticallyComfortable in customer‑facing environmentsWillingness to grow within the roleWork EnvironmentCommercial, hospital, government, and public‑safety environmentsFrequent ladder workCoverage across the entire state of TennesseeOvernight travel required for Richmond supportJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
