Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: San Francisco, CA Agency: United Health Care Staffing, Inc. Pay: $2,600 to $2,750 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: 4/7/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in San Francisco, California, 94102!Registered Nurse - Pediatric PACU Location: San Francisco, CA Start Date: 04-07-2026 End Date: 07-07-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Rotating day and evening shifts, typically 3x12-hour day shifts per week (examples: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM). Schedule rotates every 4 weeks, includes weekends, and may include variable 8- or 12-hour starts (06:30 AM, 07:00 AM, 08:00 AM, 09:00 AM, 10:00 AM). Expected weekly hours: 36-40. Roles & Responsibilities Provide high-quality, family-centered perioperative care for pediatric patients in Phase 1 PACU and Pediatric PACU Monitor and assess complex pediatric patients coming out of anesthesia, including post-op cardiac, transplant, and high acuity cases Administer medications, manage airways and ventilators, and respond to changes in patient condition with confidence Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical teams, and the Pediatric Heart Center to ensure seamless recovery and safe transitions Document patient care accurately and timely while maintaining clear communication with families and interdisciplinary teams Float to other UCSF facilities as needed, contributing your skills to multiple teams and units Act as a resource for less experienced staff and participate in unit-based quality improvement efforts Qualifications Current California RN license required AHA BLS required ACLS required PALS required Minimum 2 years recent experience in Pediatric PreOp/PACU and Pediatric Critical Care Travel experience required and ability to float to other UCSF facilities Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPAN, CAPA Charge nurse experience preferred Familiarity with tracheostomy care and home ventilators preferred Knowledge & Skills Strong pediatric critical care and PACU clinical skills Phase 1 PACU inpatient recovery expertise Comfort managing high acuity cardiac and transplant pediatric patients Ability to handle variable shift starts and rotating schedules Vein visualization skills (Veinfinder) preferred Excellent communication and family-centered care approach Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams Benefits A supportive team that values YOU and your pediatric expertise Paid orientation with ample clinical support to get you confident and competent Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your CA RN credentials current Professional development support and encouragement for specialty certifications like CCRN, CPAN, CAPA Travel-friendly perks and local onboarding help so you can hit the ground running Flexible scheduling options to help balance work and life A culture that prioritizes safety, quality care, and collaboration Opportunities to float across UCSF facilities for broader experience and variety Travel Perks: Explore San Francisco, CA San Francisco is an exciting home base for your travel assignment.
