Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: Santa Rosa, CA Agency: United Health Care Staffing, Inc. Pay: $2,500 to $2,700 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: 3/30/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Santa Rosa, California, 93012!Registered Nurse - PACU Location: Santa Rosa, CA Start Date: 03-23-2026 End Date: 06-22-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Day); occasional 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM starts; No weekends, no holidays, no call Hours per Week: 40 Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour About United Health Care Staffing At United Health Care Staffing (UHC Staffing), we believe healthcare staffing should be more than just finding a job. Roles & Responsibilities Assess perioperative patients and provide thorough pre-op and post-op care Monitor patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery, applying best practices for safety Perform medication reconciliation and administer/monitor procedural sedation when required Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and communicate relevant findings to the care team Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up phone calls to support safe transitions home Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity of care Identify and manage pain using evidence-based assessment and management strategies Apply isolation precautions and respond to urgent protocols, including malignant hyperthermia Qualifications Active CA state nursing license required (pending license accepted) Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; PACU or perioperative experience is a plus ACLS and BLS required or preferred; PALS preferred for pediatric exposure Experience with Epic or other charting systems preferred Comfort working inpatient, ambulatory/outpatient, Phase I and Phase II PACU settings Willingness to float to Main PACU as needed and work within RTO restrictions Knowledge & Skills Strong patient assessment and pre-op evaluation skills Proficiency with medication reconciliation and narcotic/opioid analgesic management Familiarity with procedural sedation, monitored anesthesia care, and general anesthesia recovery Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and lab values Experience with RASS and other sedation/agitation scales Understanding of insulin and hyper/hypoglycemia protocols Comfort caring for adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics in an outpatient surgery setting Effective communication, teamwork, and Epic documentation skills Benefits Supportive team environment that values your contributions and growth Licensure assistance and reimbursement to help keep your credentials current Paid time off so you can recharge and stay at your best Travel reimbursement and orientation support for contract teammates Opportunity to build perioperative and PACU experience across a busy, diverse case mix Professional development and access to clinical resources and interdisciplinary support Flexible scheduling with predictable weekday daytime hours A workplace that welcomes first-time travelers and offers guidance to get you settled Travel Perks: Explore Santa Rosa, CA Explore Sonoma County wine country, stroll historic downtown Santa Rosa and Courthouse Square, and enjoy the Farmers Market and local dining scene.
