This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, consult-based role focused on advanced wound care and patient outcomes across multiple facilities. Position Details Title: Inpatient Wound & Ostomy RN Location: Tacoma, WA (98405) Shift: Days – 4x10-hour shifts Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Employment Type: Travel/Contract Weekend Requirement: None Holiday Requirement: None Call Requirement: None Why This Opportunity? No weekends or holidays – great work-life balance Work in a specialized wound care role with strong clinical impact Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across multiple hospitals Gain experience with advanced wound care technologies Coverage Area Inpatient wound care across: St. Clare St. Elizabeth St. Frances St. Anthony St. Anne (Floating required between facilities as needed – may be planned in advance) Unit Overview Department: Wound Care Team Structure: 3–4 RNs on team Patient Volume: 5–15 patients/day (varies with consults) Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive wound and ostomy assessments Develop and implement individualized care plans Manage complex wounds including ostomies, fistulas, and ulcers Provide consults and clinical recommendations to care teams Coordinate care, supplies, and discharge planning Document care, including photo documentation (device provided) Educate patients, families, and staff on wound care management Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes Common Patient Conditions Ostomies & draining wounds (~25%) Pressure injuries Vascular & arterial wounds Diabetic ulcers Post-surgical wounds & trauma Skin breakdown due to incontinence Wound VAC therapy (Smith & Nephew systems) Required Qualifications Active WA RN License BLS Certification CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse) – REQUIRED(WOCN / WCC via NAWCO acceptable based on certification type) Experience Requirements Strong experience in wound care and ostomy management Travel experience not required Ability to work independently and manage consult-based workflow Additional Information Floating: Required across multiple facilities Dress Code: No specific scrub color Orientation: Includes facility orientation + preceptor support + documentation training Equipment: Smith & Nephew wound vac systems Ideal Candidate Detail-oriented with strong clinical assessment skills Excellent communication and patient education abilities Comfortable working across multiple inpatient settings Passionate about wound care excellence and patient outcomes ✨ Join a dedicated wound care team and make a meaningful difference in patient healing and recovery—apply today!
