This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple top-tier facilities within a designated zone, gaining diverse ICU experience while making a real impact on patient care. Position Details Title: Travel RN – ICU Float Location: Centennial, CO (80112) Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Schedule: Flexible scheduling (6-week blocks) Weekend Requirement: 6–9 weekend shifts per 6 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract Radius Rule: 60 miles (Driver’s License required at submission) ⚠️ Important: Float Requirement No Home Base Facility – this is a true float role Must float across Zone 1 (Colorado Springs Region) within a 60-mile radius Candidates must arrange housing that allows flexibility across all assigned facilities Facilities Include: Penrose Hospital St. Francis Medical Center St. Francis InterQuest St. Mary Corwin (Pueblo) St. Thomas More (Canon City) Why This Opportunity? Gain experience across multiple ICU settings (MICU, SICU, CVICU, TICU) Work with high-acuity patients and advanced life-support equipment Exposure to top healthcare systems across Colorado Springs region Strong team collaboration and dynamic work environment Unit Overview Setting: ICU Float Pool (All ICU types) Ratios: 1:1–2 (based on acuity) May flex up to 1:3 High-Acuity Cases: CRRT, Impella, IABP, ventilated patients Key Responsibilities Provide critical care across multiple ICU units and facilities Monitor and manage high-acuity patients Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, insulin, and more Interpret cardiac rhythms (no monitor tech support) Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across facilities Assist in managing respiratory equipment (vents, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow) Required Qualifications Active RN License BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Certifications (AHA required) Minimum 2 years of ICU experience Preferred Qualifications Prior travel experience If first-time traveler: 3+ years ICU experience + Epic experience required Additional Details Floating: Required across ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg/Tele EMR: Epic preferred Charge Nurse: Present on each unit Support Staff: Limited CNA support (mainly sitters) RT Support: Available, but RNs expected to assist with respiratory care Orientation: 1–2 days with preceptor Scrub Color: Any color Holiday Rotation: As needed Call Requirement: Rare (low census situations only) Ideal Candidate Highly adaptable and flexible Strong critical care and multitasking skills Comfortable working in different hospital environments Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills ✨ Take your ICU experience to the next level with this high-impact float opportunity across Colorado’s top facilities.
