Roles & Responsibilities Provide high-acuity MedSurg telemetry nursing care for oncology and specialty patients with compassion and clinical excellence Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, responding quickly and appropriately Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other oncology treatments when assigned, following safety protocols Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams, contributing to emergency assessment and interventions Manage IV therapy, central lines/PICC lines, blood product administration and complex medication regimens Implement infection prevention protocols and fall-prevention strategies to keep patients safe Document patient care accurately and timely in Epic to ensure continuity and quality of care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, respiratory, PT, social work, etc.) to support holistic patient care Educate patients and families on care plans, device management (trach, feeding tubes), and post-discharge needs Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent high-acuity MedSurg Telemetry experience (must meet within the last 3 years; at least 1 year current specialty experience for clinical pass) Travel experience required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS required Oncology certifications (OCN, ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required Proven ability to float across MedSurg, PCU and specialty oncology units (BMT, leukemia, hematology, surgical oncology, etc.) Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, rapid response participation, and high-acuity patient ratios Proficient charting experience in Epic Education Active RN licensure in the state of practice (required) BSN preferred Knowledge & Skills Telemetry and cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management High-acuity MedSurg skills including IV therapy, central line/PICC care, blood product administration Chemotherapy administration and monitoring (preferred) Infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions/PPE Respiratory support skills: HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy and chest tube care Emergency response: Rapid Response/Code team participation Experience with Epic electronic health record Familiarity with insulin/IV insulin protocols, PCA management and common cardiac/drip medications Benefits Supportive team that values YOU — collaborative colleagues and clinical resources Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental and vision options Paid time off so you can actually recharge and enjoy life outside work Licensure assistance and reimbursement to keep your credentials current Professional development and continuing education support Referral bonus program — tell a friend, earn a reward 401(k) retirement savings plan to help you plan ahead Work/life scheduling tools including self-schedule request system Travel Perks: Explore Columbus, OH Explore Columbus in your downtime — stroll the Short North Arts District for galleries and dining, visit the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, enjoy interactive exhibits at COSI, relax at the Franklin Park Conservatory, catch a Buckeyes game or explore the Ohio State University campus, and sample local breweries and restaurants in the Arena District.
