Pay: $65 to $77 per hour Shift Information: Evenings - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/11/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified CVOR RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43085!Registered Nurse - CVOR Location: Columbus, OH Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type: Evening shifts — primarily 5x8 (5 shifts per week) 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM; alternate rotating schedule options include a mix of 2x8 and 2x12 evening/night shifts (examples listed include 10:30 PM and 2:30 PM start times). Includes in-house weekend rotation (aligned with staff rotation) and required call duties (weekday call begins at 7:00 PM; weekend call divided into 12-hour blocks). Roles & Responsibilities Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR for adult cardiac, vascular and transplant patients Assist and scrub for complex procedures including CABG, valve surgeries, TAVR and LVAD-related cases Ensure accurate EPIC charting for all perioperative documentation and handoffs Participate in call rotation and respond to weekday and weekend call assignments promptly (weekday call begins at 7:00 PM; weekend call in 12-hour blocks) Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in a Level I Trauma and transplant setting Adhere to universal protocol, infection control and safe blood product administration practices Support emergency responses such as code response, malignant hyperthermia and intraoperative emergencies Qualifications Active Registered Nurse license (state authorization to practice in Ohio required) Minimum 3 years overall OR experience with 2+ years dedicated to cardiac and vascular care (HARD STOP: 3 years total OR experience) At least 1 year CVOR-specific experience At least 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility EPIC charting experience (required) BLS and NIHSS certifications required (ACLS preferred) Comfortable with call duties and flexible scheduling Knowledge & Skills Strong perioperative knowledge in cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular and transplant procedures Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), femoral cannulation and VAD management Familiarity with advanced procedures such as TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR and endovascular interventions Robotic surgery exposure (Da Vinci systems) and hybrid OR experience a plus Proficient with electrosurgical units, fiber optic lighting and common CVOR instrumentation Skilled in administration of blood products, specimen handling, infection control and universal protocol time-outs Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity, multidisciplinary settings Benefits A supportive team that values YOU — collaborative, skilled colleagues in a specialty CVOR environment Flexible scheduling options to help balance life and work Licensure assistance & reimbursement to keep your credentials current Paid time off to recharge and stay sharp Comprehensive onboarding and unit orientation so you hit the ground confident Referral bonus program to reward teammates who bring great people on board Opportunities for professional growth in cardiac, vascular and transplant procedures A respectful workplace that prioritizes patient safety and staff wellbeing Travel Perks: Explore Columbus, OH Explore Columbus on your off time: stroll the Short North Arts District for galleries and great dining, catch a show or visit Ohio State University’s campus, relax at the Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, spend a day at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, bike or walk along the Scioto Mile riverfront, and enjoy local breweries and food markets in German Village.
