Experience operating a scissor lift for installations DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking experienced Traveling Cable / Low‑Voltage Technicians to support a large‑scale retail security camera rollout. This role involves nationwide travel, working as part of a team to install, cable, test, and validate IP camera systems according to strict installation and field‑of‑view (FOV) requirements.Technicians will be responsible for complete end‑to‑end installation activities, including structured cabling, hardware mounting, camera configuration support, validation, and documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall Axis IP security cameras per approved scope (approximately 35–38 cameras per site)Perform structured cabling (CAT5e/CAT6) from cameras to IDFsTerminate, label, and organize cabling in IDFs and camera locationsTest and certify cabling using industry‑standard testing equipment (Fluke preferred)Mount camera hardware using appropriate solutions including:UnistrutConduitSurface and ceiling mountsVerify network connectivity to required IDFsSupport camera configuration verification and firmware checks (in coordination with Help Desk)Assist with Field‑of‑View (FOV) validation to ensure cameras align with shot guide requirementsMake physical camera adjustments as requested by the client AP teamReturn to sites as needed for follow‑up adjustments or correctionsCapture and upload required deliverables:Camera imagesTest resultsValidation documentationUpload documentation into ServiceNowFollow all site safety, PPE, and customer requirementsWork effectively in teams of four on overnight shifts (typically four nights per store)Skillsip cameras, Cat5, Cat6, idfs, Install, Cabling, cctv systems, Punchdown, Low voltage, Cable installation, cctv, Structured cabling, InstallationAdditional Skills & QualificationsRequired Skills & Experience2+ years experience in low‑voltage or structured cabling environmentsStrong hands‑on experience with:CAT5e/CAT6 cablingTermination and testingRetail or commercial environmentsFamiliarity with IP security camera installations (Axis experience preferred)Ability to read and follow installation scopes, shot guides, and diagramsComfortable working in IDFs and ladder/lift environmentsBasic understanding of network connectivity and troubleshootingStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyAbility to travel 100% nationwide for extended periodsAbility to work overnight shifts and maintain productivityPreferred QualificationsAxis camera installation experienceFluke certification or strong testing experienceConduit bending or light electrical/EMT experiencePrevious big‑box retail rollout experience (Lowe’s, Walmart, etc.)Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ticketing/documentation systems #WROJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
